Winter Park - R.W. "Bill" Cuthill, Jr. has joined Quantum Consulting Group, LLP as Director of Bankruptcy Services. Mr. Cuthill is best known for the high-profile bankruptcies to which he has been court-appointed as trustee. He is currently the court-appointed trustee for Evergreen Security, Ltd. (Evergreen) and World Vision Entertainment, Inc. (World). Evergreen is a $200 million plus investment fund operated in Orlando, Florida and Nassau, Bahamas, which filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2001. Mr. Cuthill was appointed trustee in March 2001 to recover funds for over two thousand certificate holders from around the world. Mr. Cuthill has described Evergreen as "a ponzi scheme from the word go". World is a $50 million plus investment company operated from Altamonte Springs, Florida which filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 1999. Mr. Cuthill was appointed trustee in November 1999 to recover funds for over twelve hundred promissory note holders from the US. This company, which Mr. Cuthill has described as a "ponzi scheme", has been documented on national television in the US as part of a series of nine-month note programs. These programs have defrauded investors out of over $500 million in investments. Mr. Cuthill states, "I have filed fifty-three lawsuits to recover assets in this case. Most of these suits are pending at this time." Mr. Cuthill, the co-founding partner of Cuthill & Eddy LLP, was its managing partner from 1975 until 1993. He is a CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and holds securities and insurance brokerage licenses. He was Chairman of Independent Accountants International, an international association of over 130 independent accounting firms throughout the world. He is a member of the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Psi. Mr. Cuthill states "I am joining Quantum to concentrate my practice in forensic accounting work. I will develop a bankruptcy practice for Quantum, which will concentrate on debtors filing or contemplating filing Chapters 7 or 11 and their creditors."
